Heating Element, HC-12, 12KW 208V 1PH
The heating element resides in the pressurized vessel which is responsible for boiling water to create the vapor and is used on steam bath generator model HC-12 (Single Element) and HC-24 (Dual Element with serial number up to E-39999).

The heating element has a copper sheath with a steel flange and comes with a graphite gasket. Stamped on the flange is the voltage and kilowatts.
A common reason for a failed element is lime build-up in the tank and water probes. We suggest having a water treatment system in place along with a routine preventative maintenance program to extend the life of the heating elements.
When replacing a heating element, always use a new gasket. Steamist gaskets do not need compound but if you choose to use it, make sure to use a compound rated to at least 300 degrees F.
It is a good idea to have extra gaskets on hand for preventative maintenance cleanings and an extra element on hand to reduce down time.
